BAFTA Games Awards 2016 have announced the nominees for it’s upcoming ceremony. 44 games have been recognised across 17 categories. It’s no surprise The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has got a whooping 7 nominations! Also my favourite episodic adventure game of 2015 got a lot of attention – Life is Strange, with 5 nominations, including Best Game. I haven’t had a chance to play Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture or Her Story, but I have to check what’s the fuss is all about, with one getting 10 nominations and the other 7! In Mobile & Handheld category The Room Three is my personal favourite to win, but it has a tough competition against the likes of popular Fallout Shelter and Lara Croft GO. Dara O’Briain will be the presenter on the night.

Her Story

I’ll be watching the action and drama unfold live, as I’m going to BAFTA Games Awards (yay!) this year. The Awards are on the 7th April and they’re sharing the venue (London Tobacco Dock) with EGX Rezzed, which I’ll be attending for the second year running. It’s an indie games expo. I’m really excited for both events. I keep checking the What’s On page for the EGX to see what games I’ll be able to play and it’s looking like a very interesting line up. Like last year I’ll be doing a Games Highlights article and I’m planning to schedule some interviews with the creators.
